If you could do something all over again knowing what you know now, what would it be? You know you've played this game! Some of us say we'd change nothing and others have a laundry list of should-coulda-wouldas! Oowee. You ever see that movie Sliding Doors? Gwenyth Paltrow's character plays a woman who boards a train. Simple and almost boring, right? Not. The movie goes in to how her life would be different if she would've missed the train. Throughout the movie you see her living both lives. It's fascinating! Why is it so fascinating to imagine how we'd be different today if we made a different choice? God gave me a big eraser and is allowing me to have fun with it! He's fighting back for me the years I lost... Example of years I've gotten back: 16.5 the number of years my son has been alive - the son I birthed at 17 came to God with His life and has accelerated in his purpose. I always worried how I would make it and what my children would do bec

I'm a Slave for You - Not to be confused with Britney!

Coming from Romans 6:15-23 today! I'm a slave to being upright and walking the Christian life. It's that or a slave to sin. Spent many years on that team. BREAKING NEWS: Christians struggle with sin!! Subtitle: I don't answer to sin and the process of repentance sets me free, duh! It certainly was easier to do what I wanted, when I wanted to do it and with whom. I didn't toil over whether or not what I was doing was pleasing in God's eyes. I certainly didn't consider if I was living out the purpose He saw for my life. Christians, let's be honest, it's easier to live in sin. Living righteous takes discipline, will, faith, long- suffering , growth, stripping of pride and the giving up of our desires for our life, etc. We all know how we are slaves to sin. Some being alcohol, drugs, sex, hate, pride, greed, etc. These things create a downward spiral; cause and effect. It's logical. So if sin leads to more sin than living righteous leads to? So what

Facebook Wastebook

I decided to use Facebook sparingly but before it's official I had to grab some of my favorite statuses. Facebook is a great way to stay connected. A great marketing tool but when sharing your inner dealings, it can get messy. Between the crazy family leaving even crazier comments and the folks whose world falls apart when you delete them, I'd rather not! Truly there has been people who act as if deleting them from your Facebook is equivalent to deleting them from your life! Over it. Blessings I am so full right now. I'm sitting here blessed from a good Word sitting in a high rise in beautiful Seattle, preparing my modest yet nourishing meal at this job that allows me to sleep, shower, and maintain my household, two blocks from Beneorya Hall where I get to minister with church family tonight. Take a look around! You are blessed! I wake up with praises in my mouth - like all night and in the morning. I keep waking up singing too! I think we can all relate to

The Office Prayer

Heaven knows there's times when we need to remind ourselves to woo-sah! Both saved and unsaved folks act up! Being Christian do esn't make you perfect. This seems to be a wid e-spread notion that people have about Christians. The only perfect human was Jesus! Christ-like is a life-time, ever growing goal! This should add a laugh to your irritation! Ease the sting just a little too. O - Oh Lord, help me not to curse anybody out today F - Freeze my tounge, if somebody gets in my way F - Fill me with Your grace, so that I may stay cool I - I'm trying to do right, but I am nobody's fool C - Cause me to humble myself, before I get fired E - Even a saint like me sometimes gets tired P - Praise Your name, because You've saved me, many times before R - Rise up in me before I get to the door A - All Mighty One, You know I need you close Y - Your Spirit is a constant reminder E - Show me how to be an example of how not to be a whiner R - Rise up in me, so I don

GospelFest 2011: Performing not Transforming

Coming from 2 Corinthians 10 today! GospelFest 2011! I went in with a mindset that we were on assignment by God to be a presentation of Praise and ministry. There was no expectation to place nor win the competition because our ministry doesn't believe the Holy Spirit can compete with The Holy Spirit as we Christians are all a part of the body of Christ and we work together for His purpose. (I could shout off of that right there! Amen, Lord, Hallelujah!) We prepared for the "competition" like we would prepare for Sunday service. We engaged in Bible Study, group prayer, and lastly we got up on stage, sang our song, giving forth our praises to God and we were out. No frills, no sensationalising, no spirit of competition, we just did what we do, staying true to our ministry. I believe that's what our mission was. To be an example of Christ. After all, we are a TRANSFORMING choir and not a PERFORMING choir. Certainly God will say Well Done! Let this Word bless you! 2 Corin
