PLAYlist - PRAYlist
I used to pray the same prayer every time I prayed and it was only once in a while. Imagine the redundancy and the thought God had about His daughter knowing every time she came to Him it was the same thing time after time. What if every conversation you had with a person was exactly the same verbatim every single time? Wow. That would irritate me quite honestly! Praise God He is much more understanding and long-sufferring. Come to think about it, the "small talk" we do with co-workers passing by in the hallway pretty much is an example of redundant, non-sincere exchanges. It's more of a formality. I've since been learning the power of prayer. I've learned the power of prayer for others as well. Prayer is a conversation with the Living God. He will begin to speak to your spirit! Sometimes when I pray I don't bring requests and not because I am ashamed to ask for things or I don't believe He could answer my requests but sometimes I just want to get on my knees before Him and tell Him how great He is, how I can't begin to understand His power and how I am humbled that He speaks to me and has me covered at all times. I begin to feel His spirit surrounding me and it brings me to tears knowing that He loves me so much and acknowledges my love for Him with His presence. I've been seeking prayer from others more often too. I recently learned that something I asked someone to be in prayer with me about was going through the same thing and in the end her prayers for me trickled in to her own life and situation. I didn't even tell her my situation but that's how God hooks it up. He will double up the blessings! Share yourself with Him and others. Pray together, for one another, and give God time and opportunity to speak to you!
